Edward Marshall Gazette, Jr.

December 22, 1936 — February 20, 2025

Little Rock, Arkansas

Edward Marshall Gazette, Jr, 88, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025. Born on Dec 22, 1936 in Little Rock, to Ed and Iris (O’Kelly) Gazette, Marshall was a lifelong resident of Little Rock. He graduated from Central High School in 1955 and attended Little Rock University(UALR), studying business.

Marshall married Glenda Fleming on July, 1, 1960. They spent the next 64 years faithfully loving each other and their two children, Gale and Owen. Family was important to Marshall, and he found joy in the simple, everyday events of their lives. He was a wonderful husband and father, but he truly excelled at being a grandfather. Marshall marveled at his granddaughters and thought everything they did was absolutely wonderful. This feeling was magnified with the addition of his great grandchildren.

Marshall spent fifty years in the insurance industry, retiring from the Mark V. Williamson Company. Through the course of his career, he had many friends who became his clients and even more who started as clients and became his friends.

Marshall was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, and playing golf throughout his life. He was a member of several organizations including Kiwanis and the Little Rock Jaycees. A lifetime member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, he was a member of the Fathomer’s class, served on the board, and volunteered with the food pantry and the church Alzheimer’s program, Helping Hands.

He leaves behind his wife Glenda, his daughter Gale Spencer (Scott) of Poplar Bluff, MO; his son Owen of Little Rock; his brother Gary Gazette (Marylea) of Little Rock; three granddaughters, Whitney Spencer Arthur (Eric) of Fayetteville, AR, Caroline Spencer Robbins (Jay) of LR, Georgia Gazette (Josh Turner) of Bangkok, Thailand and four great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the angels of Woodland Heights Memory Care and Elite Hospice for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a gift in Marshall’s memory to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church or Our House of Little Rock, AR.
