Doyne Hogan

March 15, 1935 — June 19, 2021

Bryant, Arkansas

Doyne “Ray” Hogan, of Bryant, Arkansas, passed away peacefully June 19, 2021.  He was born March 15, 1935, in Mallettown, AR.  Preceding him in death were his parents, Dennis L. “Foot” Hogan and Leona Doss Hogan; a grandson, Christopher and a great-granddaughter, Zoe Marie.  He was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Benton.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Faith; sister, Linda (Toni) Pitts of Rogers, AR; two sons, Dayne (Tammy) Hogan and Robert Hogan, bother, both of Haskell; 6 grandsons, 2 granddaughters and 3 great-grandchildren, 2 step-children and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Ray traveled the world as an agent for the CIA and as a private pilot for fun.  Next to Faith, his greatest loves were his planes and his time in the air.  He also spent time at sea.  He was an electrical engineer and most famously served on the Glomar Explorer when the government raised a Russian sub from the ocean floor.

He was a long time member of the Lion’s Club International, serving in various officer positions.  He served with passion wherever he lived and was proud of his 50+ years of service.

Ray was an excellent gardener, notable carpenter and a most kind friend and neighbor to all.  His honesty and steadfast patience will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Haskell at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.
