Douglas Cunningham Church, 66, died August 22, 2015 in Little Rock, Arkansas, after battling cancer the past six months.
Born on August 2, 1949, Doug was the son of Claude Bennett Church and Louise Cunningham Church, both of whom have preceded him in death.
Doug is survived by his sister, Claudia Church Taylor, of El Dorado; a nephew, William Clayton Taylor II, of Little Rock; and a niece, Lizzie Taylor Plunkett & her husband Robert Sean Plunkett, of El Dorado.
Doug was a long-time employee of Cortrol Process Systems, Inc. of Tulsa, Oklahoma - he will be greatly missed by his work family. He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1967 and attended the University Of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He served his country honorably as a Green Beret Paratrooper and a Special Forces Medic in the United States Army.
A Private Family Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. However, friends are welcome to join the family for a celebration of Doug’s life at probably his favorite place on earth, Hill’s on Saturday, August 29, 2015, 4-6 PM.
