Diane Blair Treece

March 10, 1938 — September 22, 2024

Little Rock, Arkansas

Diane Blair Treece, 86, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024 after a four year battle with dementia. She was born on March 10, 1938 to Virgil and Marie Blair in Leslie AR. She married her childhood sweetheart, Henry Treece, the day after high school graduation in 1956 and drove the next day to Washington state where Henry worked in the timber industry. After living all over the country, they relocated to Little Rock to raise their family. They were married for 68 years.

She was a talented pianist who could read music and play by ear and started playing for her church at the age of ten. She went back to school in her thirties while raising four kids and graduated from UALR with a teaching degree. She was a long time educator in the Pulaski County Special School District, where she helped countless adults attain their GEDs. She joined First Christian Church in 1969 and served as a deaconess, sang in the choir, played piano, and worked in the food pantry. She loved First Christian. Mom was the quintessential neighborhood mother who never minded a house full of her kids’ friends, especially in the summer as she and Henry lived by the neighborhood pool.

Diane is survived by her sister Sharon Blair of Brewster, MA; children Geoffrey(Jane), Craig(Cindy), Cole(Shannon), and Mary Beth Gresham(Matt); grandchildren Spencer Treece, Alex Treece, Cameron Treece, Tanner Treece, Mason Gresham, and Jameson Utley; great grandchildren Jaxon, Henry, Eli, and Ava Treece. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, her parents, her brother Douglas Blair, and great grandchild Uma Treece.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Cynthia Tyson, who lovingly cared for mom and dad for the last four years, Synergy Home Care, Gentiva Hospice, and Presbyterian Village where she lived the last four months of her life.

Services will be held 11:00 Monday November 4th at First Christian Church followed by a visitation with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Christian Church, 14411 Taylor Loop Rd.

Mom and Dad are together again.
