It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Darlene Joan Kurtz, a beloved mother, grandmother, educator, and activist. Born January 8, 1949 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Darlene's life was marked by her unwavering commitment to bettering the world around her.
Through her work as an educator, she inspired countless students and touched the lives of many. As an activist, she fought for justice, equality, and the rights of others, always standing firm in her values.
Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Joann and Leonard bonk, as well as her daughter Annette Kurtz, sister in Law (Peggy Bonk) and her beloved husband Roger Kurtz. Her legacy lives on in the love she shared with her loved ones. She was a devoted mother to her children Daniel, Zacarías Gill, Dale, Cheryl, and Bonnie Kurtz. A proud grandmother (Ashley, Shaunee, Valarie, Roxann, Evangelina, Freddie, Daniel and Jerry) and a cherished great-grandmother. (Adalyn, Avrom, Sebastian, Payton, Ramona and SJ (Steven jr). Sisters- Eileen (Richard), Cindy(Ray), and brother Al.
To know Darlene was a privilege; to be loved by her, a gift beyond words. Her kindness, selflessness, and strength were felt by all who crossed her path. She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will hold her spirit close as they continue forward in a world made better by her presence. Darlene Kurtz will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her love, guidance, and the values she instilled in others will remain a beacon for generations to come. Memory of life services will be held at First United Methodist Church at 723 Center St in Little Rock on February 8th at 11:00 am.
