Daniel Regan Freeman, age 51, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, at UAMS in Little Rock. He was born August 8, 1970, to Quinten Ray Freeman and Linda Carol (Millsaps) Freeman in Dardanelle.
Daniel graduated from Dover High School in 1988, where he then went to Arkansas Tech University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, class of 1994. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and loved golfing and spending time with this family.
Kelly says: "Daniel will be missed by everybody that ever met him. His strength was legendary, he knew he was tough, and didn't hide it. He was the finest friend, but that friendship would not save you if he felt you needed adjustment. His word was good. He was a good golfer, and he hated to lose. He was a quick wit and could fillet you in a debate as quickly as he could fillet a fish. And if he ever did feel like you were getting the better of him, he would just grab you in what he called the "crushing grip of reason" but was really an anaconda-like hug effectively shutting your breathing, and therefore your talking.
Daniel will be missed because he was protective of his loved ones and his friends. He was gentle until riled. If you had him riled, you had a problem without an off-switch. Daniel really did prefer peace and tolerable people around him. Daniel was known to be a good cook. Food was important to him and if he felt like you were rushing him into a poor food opportunity? Well, he could take that personally.
Daniel will be missed for his good humor. He was quick with an observation, quick with repartee, and just well-enough read to be dangerous in a game of Jeopardy.
Daniel will also be missed for his experience in construction. He was good at it and knew his profession well. He was a natural problem solver and was dependable coming as well as going. Daniel had the ability to learn anything he wanted to learn.
There are as many reasons to miss Daniel as there are people to miss him. When Daniel was at bat, you can bet he was swinging as hard as he could. And he will be missed."
Daniel is survived by his parents, Quinten and Linda Freeman of Dover; wife of almost 27 years, Valorie Freeman; son, Mitchell Freeman of Russellville; daughter, Regan Freeman of Fayetteville; brother, Kelly and wife Julie Freeman of Fayetteville; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
