Courtenay Steele Jackson, age 70, of Little Rock, AR, died peacefully in her hometown on Sunday, December 8, 2024. She was born August 30, 1954, in Little Rock to her loving parents, Ed and Shirley Jackson.
Courtenay grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Hall High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she met her husband, H. K. Stewart. They had one son, William Jackson Stewart, who now lives in New York City. Courtenay was active both in her community and at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church, where she’d been a member for more than 30 years and which she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Franklin Jackson and Shirley Wilson Jackson. She is survived by her son, Jackson; sister Cynthia Ragan of Alexander, AR; half-sisters Lisa Bianco and Leslie Hiscocks of Des Moines, IA; step-mother Denise Patton; step-sisters Danielle and Debbie Cutler and step-brother Ted Cutler, all of Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Arkansas Humane Society or Westover Hills Presbyterian Church instead.
A memorial service led by Rev. Robert Lowry will be held Saturday, December 28, at 2:00 p.m., at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church, 6400 Kavanaugh Blvd, Little Rock, AR 72207.
