Carol Dean Cotner, commonly known as C.D., went to be with our Lord on Monday, February 24, 2025, at home in Hot Springs. The majority of C.D.’s life was spent living in Pine Bluff with his wife, Yvonne. In 2020, after her passing, he moved to Hot Springs with his daughter and her husband.
C.D. was born on September 6, 1930, in Humphrey, Arkansas to the late John C. and Lucy Page Cotner. He graduated from Humphrey High School in 1950. After graduation, he joined the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. Carol Dean married Yvonne Gray on November 14, 1953. Carol Dean was a member of the Church of Christ on Hwy. 79 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Carol was an avid golfer and spent many days at the Jaycee Golf Course in Pine Bluff with his golf family. When he wasn’t at the golf course, he was probably at home singing “Hey Joe!”
Carol retired in 2000 with over 40 years in the trucking industry. He knew the roads of the U.S. as well as the back of his hand. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife (Yvonne Gray Cotner), daughter Mary Helen Cotner Reaves, grandson Dr. Brian Taylor, brothers Donald, Willam Dale, John Collier (J.C.) and Carey Cotner and sister, Lou Veda Thomas.
Survivors include sister, Linda Allred of Mountain Home, daughter, Lucelia (Dee) Mullikin of Hot Springs; son-in-law Dennis Earl Reaves of Pine Bluff, brother-in-law David Gray of Alexander, grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Guyewski of Pine Bluff, Jacqueline Reeves of Edmond, Oklahoma, Matthew (Caitlin) Mullikin of Bristol, England, and Rebecca (Ben) Brantley of Pine Bluff; great-grandchildren Nathan Taylor, Aaron Taylor, Baker Dee Mullikin, Blake Anne Mullikin, Jacob Guyewski, Lucy Kirts, Alex (Jacob) Brantley, Sage and Anna (David) Brantley De Rueda.
A family graveside inurnment will be at a later date in Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff, AR.
