He is predeceased by his parents, Van and Ethel Mauldin; son, Mason Mauldin of Little Rock; brother, Donald Mauldin of Benton; sister, Jackie Smith of Plano, Texas; and nephew, Jack Welch of Uncertain, Texas. Bill is survived by his children, Damon Mauldin Lisa of Decatur, Georgia, and Dayna Gober Reggie of Little Rock; granddaughters, Melissa and Natalie Mauldin, and grandsons, Tyson and Collins Gober; brother, Gerald Mauldin Ina of Hot Springs; sister, Nellene Welch of North Little Rock. He was a loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Bill attended and graduated from Henderson State in Arkadelphia on a music scholarship. Although he did not pursue music as a career, it continued to be a central part of his life until his death. He served as a Captain in the United States Army Finance Corp in White Sands, New Mexico. He spent most of his professional career in the mortgage banking industry and at his retirement was Executive Vice President of First Commercial Mortgage Company predecessor to Regions Mortgage in Little Rock. Bill was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Little Rock where he served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister for many years. He was very active in Alcoholic Anonymous taking the 12-step message to others including prisoners in the Pulaski County Detention Facility. He personally sponsored several members in AA and was a mentor to many in recovery. In doing so, he touched and perhaps saved lives. This service was most dear to him and will continue to benefit those he helped for years to come. Funeral and committal services will be Tuesday, August 27 at 11 am at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Little Rock followed by a reception in the church youth center.
