April 18, 1936 — December 30, 2021

Maumelle

Barbara Humphreys, 85, of Maumelle passed away December 30, 2021.  She was born April 18,1936, in Little Rock, AR to Vernon and Lucretia Crawford.  She graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1954. She then attended Mississippi State College for Women where she studied music.  When she left college, she met and married Thomas Hadden Humphreys, III, and they had three daughters.  She started attending Westover Hills Presbyterian Church as a teenager where she later sang in the choir and remained a member for decades.  She loved to walk and hike, and she loved animals, especially her cats, of which she is survived by one, Bob, 19 years old.  Her daughters were impacted from an early age by her love for music.  They recall many nights going to sleep to the classics such as Chopin, Bach and Mozart as she played them on the piano.

Barbara worked for Pulaski Bank for many years before moving to Texas in 1980 where she began her career with Bank of America.  She attended Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas.  She retired in 2006 and moved back to Little Rock.

She is preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by daughters Tammy Martin of Maumelle; Patty Deislinger of North Little Rock; Lisa Loftis (Michael) of Maumelle; brothers John “Brother” Crawford (Becky) of Fayetteville, Arkansas; David Crawford of Oklahoma City; granddaughters Amber Rowlett (Damon); Katharine Freyaldenhoven, Magen Deislinger; great grandson, Andrew Rowlett; niece Kim Johnson (Mike); and nephews Kevin Crawford (Leigh) and Kris Crawford (Kelly).

A special thanks to Heather Reeves, one of her caregivers for many years, and Hospice Homecare.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to Pulaski County Humane Society.
