Barbara Lou (Evans) Nierstheimer

Barbara Lou Nierstheimer went to be with the Lord on Jan. 29, 2025. She was born in Conway, Ark. on Oct 5, 1953 to Evangeline Evans Morris and William Truit Evans. 

She received baccalaureate and master's degrees from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and received her Juris Doctorate from UALR Bowen School of Law in Little Rock. She was a former Worthy Matron for the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed antiquing and auctions and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed being in nature and delighted in digging for interesting rocks and fossils. 

She is preceded in death by her son Donald Koon, her nephew Daniel Evans and her ex-husband Buddy J. Koon. She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Phillip Nierstheimer of Benton, Arkansas, her brother, Roger Evans (Cathy) of Alexander, Ark. and sister Jo Ann Weaver (Mickey) of Sherwood, her two sons, Derrick Koon (Elaine) of Vernon Hills Illinois, David Koon (Lisa) of Little Rock Ark., Brenda Koon of Paron and grandchildren Dylan Treadway (Troy) of Benton Ark., Lauren and Truit Koon of Paron, Ark, Sam Koon of Little Rock Ark., and Katherine, Emily and Daniel Koon of Vernon Hills, Ill. Her step-children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She was loved greatly and will be missed by all who knew her. 

Barbara's Celebration of Life ceremony will take place on Friday, February 7 at 6:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church, 702 Church Street, Benton, Arkansas, 72015 with Brother David James officiating.
