Long-time White Hall resident ALBERT DANIEL “DANNY” CROFFORD died peacefully surrounded by his family in Little Rock on November 5, 2022. He was 78. Danny was born on July 13, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to George Thomas Crofford, Sr. and Flora Telitha (Elkins) Crofford.

Danny grew up in White Hall, Arkansas. He attended White Hall High School until he decided to serve his country. Danny enlisted in the United States Army in 1962 and served his country honorably around the world for more than twenty years including three tours of Vietnam during the Vietnam War. While stationed in South Korea, Danny met the love of his life, Sam Ye Kim in 1974. He retired as a Staff Sergeant from the Army in 1984, and he continued to work for the government at the Pine Bluff Arsenal until finally retiring in 2007. Danny is an Army Vietnam Veteran and his awards include the Army Commendation Medal (3X), the Army Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal (6X), the Armed Forces Expeditionary Award, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and the Presidential Unit Citation (3X).

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Evelyn Elaine “Sissy” Weast; his brothers, Bennie Richard Crofford, Claude Benjamin Crofford and George Thomas Crofford, Jr.; sister-in-law, Margaret Charles Crofford; nephew, George Roy Weast; nieces, Nancy Diane Crofford and Mary Telitha Lochabay. His family rests in the comfort of knowing they are all now reunited together in love.

Danny is survived by his wife of almost 47 years, Sam Ye “Kim” Crofford, of White Hall; his son,Danny-Joe Crofford and grandchildren, Austin Joseph Crofford, Andrew David Crofford and Caelyn Wedgeworth Higgins, all of Little Rock; daughter and caregiver, Cassandra Louise “Cassie” Crofford, of Little Rock; brother, Charlie Michael “Mike” Crofford and wife Sandra Jane, of Star City; sister-in- laws, Naomi Ruth Crofford, of Lewisville, Texas and Justine Cleo Crofford, of Sherman, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Roger Weast, of Star City; nephews, Sandy Wayne Crofford, of Decatur, Texas and Curtis Ray Crofford, of Collinsville, Texas; nieces, Peggy Louise Muhm, of Colleyville, Texas, Cynthia Gayle Roegner, of Athens, Texas, Debbie Annette Verran, of Calera, Oklahoma, Jennifer Michelle Wheeler, of Sherman, Oklahoma, Judy Ann Owens, of Monticello and Susan Marie Nethercutt, of Star City.

The Crofford Family would like to thank the staff of Baptist Health Hospice and a special thank you to Jenny Lester for providing much needed care of our loved one.

A memorial service with Military honors will be held on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, 2022, at 2 p.m., at New Life Church in Pine Bluff (2801 South Olive Street).
