Victor Lee Bettis, 59, died in his home in Sherwood on July 8, 2020. He was born in Little Rock March 1st, 1961 to Jack and Jacqueline (Smith) Bettis. He was a 1979 graduate of Southside High School in Fort Smith, received his Bachelor’s degree in finance from University of Central Arkansas, and his MA in Operation Management from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
Victor was an accomplished manager with a strong work ethic and gift for details. He shared his skills with many companies such as KD Cabinets, Remington Arms, Windsor Door, and as a part-owner of the UPS store in North Little Rock. He served as a longstanding Board Member for the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce. He was also an active member of APICS and the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce.
Vic’s smile, infectious laugh, epic dad jokes, and devotion to his family and friends will be greatly missed. In August 2010, he married his beloved wife, Gina K. Bettis, with whom he spent almost 10 years. He loved golfing, baseball, dining at El Chico, traveling on cruises, classic rock, and supporting local theaters.
Victor is survived by his wife and parents; his sisters, Barbara Bettis Lee and husband, Greg, and Karen Abernathy, husband, Steve, of Oklahoma; children Megan, Jacqueline, and Evan Bettis and stepdaughter Kathryn Kellogg; an extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and countless friends whose lives he touched.
A Visitation Tribute to Celebrate Victor’s life will be held August 22, 2020 at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107, Sherwood) from 10am-12pm. COVID-19 mandates masks to be worn at all times, social distancing is encouraged. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to ALS-Arkansas.org.
