Vickie Martin, 67, went to be with the Lord, October 17, 2017. She was born June 10, 1950, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Vickie graduated from Star City High School in 1968. She then attended UAMS where she graduated as a Radiology Technician. She immediately went to work for St. Vincent, where she achieved the position of St. Vincent Breast Center Manager. She retired after 32 years of faithful, dedicated service to St. Vincent and the families they serve. Vickie achieved the Josetta Wilkins Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015 for her work, passion and determination for the fight against breast cancer.
Vickie is preceded in death by her father, John C. Polk, Jr.
She is survived by her mother, Frances Vick Polk; sister Thrita Griffith; brother, John C. Polk, III; two nieces, Kenda Chandler and Jessi Polk; three great nieces, Frances Thompson (Josh), Brenda Chandler, and Rebecca Gracie, six great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends whom will miss her dearly.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Fellowship Bible Church Chapel, 1401 Kirk Rd, Little Rock, with Pastor Bill Parkinson and Shelby Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to O’Neel Cemetery, PO BOX 20261, White Hall, AR 71612.
