Tracy Renee Herndon-Elliott, age 38, of North Little Rock, passed away due to complications from cancer surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. She was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on June 9, 1978 to James Barry and Sharelle Herndon. She was a 1996 graduate of Pineville High School in Pineville, LA and obtained her degree from Louisiana College in Pineville in 2000 and a Master’s Degree for piano pedagogy from Northwestern University in Natchitoches, LA. She was the music director for a short time at Faith United Methodist Church in Little Rock until her illness. Prior to her cancer diagnosis, her gift of music led her to a passion for teaching children. Her ultimate dream was to open her own studio to cultivate young minds through music.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as crocheting, needle point, and knitting.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband of almost ten years, Joseph Elliott; her brother, James Brian Herndon and wife, Cindy of Little Rock; one niece, Isabella Herndon; her aunt-in-law, Evelyn Haneman of North Little Rock, and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Parkhill Presbyterian Church, 3520 JFK Blvd., North Little Rock, AR with Pastor Carol Clark officiating.
