Rita Davis

November 16, 1952 — March 29, 2014

Rita Jane Davis, 61, Devoted wife, mother, grandmother and daughter of God, went home Saturday, March 29, 2014, at her home with her beloved husband by her side. Rita was born November 16, 1952, in Windsheim, Germany, to John and Berta Betty Busch. In 1966, Rita came to the United States of America with her family and has been here ever since. On January 20, 1971, Rita Jane Busch and Michael Boyd Davis, Sr. were married and that is where the amazing story begins. On February 8, 1975, Rita Jane Davis was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and only Heavenly Father knew the impact that she would have on so many people because of that decision. From those waters of baptism, her husband was baptized on December 27, 1988, and on November 15, 1989, Rita and Michael were sealed as a couple for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple. On April 4, 1992, all eleven children, Rita and Michael were sealed as a family for time and all eternity in the Dallas, Texas temple. Through Rita’s unwavering faith in Heavenly Father and her tremendous testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, five of her sons served two year missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and helped change many people’s lives for the better and all her children have a testimony of God’s plan for them. Rita’s legacy is living on through her husband Michael and her children, Michael Jr., Christopher-Michael, Stephen-Michael, Rebecca Rodriguez, Meredith Cope, Jon-Michael, Adam-Michael, Sarah Hall, Mallori Medina, Jacob-Michael and Sean-Michael; thirty-eight grandchildren; sister, Barbara Harrison, brother, John Busch and many brothers and sisters-in- law with the addition of many, many friends. Rita’s memorial service will be held Saturday, April 12, at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 801 Skyline Drive in Searcy, AR. In lieu of flowers and donations, the family asks that you just come and celebrate her life with stories and joyful remembrance.
