Kimani Thompson was born on 23 July, 1994 at Tinker Air Force Base hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. She grew up in El Paso while living with her mother and grandmother. Kimani moved to Lawton, OK with her mother, grandmother, and step-father, in 2009 but moved to Alabama later that same year. She graduated from Sparkman High School with an Advanced Degree with Honors in 2012. She moved backed to Lawton, OK after graduating high school where she attended Cameron University and studied theatre arts for a short time while she worked at Academy Sports. Kimani had aspirations of serving in the military or working with animals. She was not a very social person and only had a small circle of friends but she was loved and admired by all who had the chance to know her. Although her time on this earth was short, she made a lasting impact and had the potential to do so much more with her life.
In her immediate family, Kimani is preceded in death by her grandmother, Marie Thompson, her grandfather, John Tuttle, her aunt, Marilee Coote, uncle, Anthony Howlett, and cousin, John Howlett.
Kimani leaves behind her mother and father, Kathleen and James Jones, her siblings Sharee Johnson and her husband Timm, Tamara Jones, Shawna Rattler, Shayenne Ebert, and James R. Jones, her nephew and niece, TJ and A’Niya, several cousins and other family members and a host of friends.
Kimani was loved and cared for by all that she knew and she will be dearly missed. A memorial service for Kimani will be held on (TBD) at Whinery-Huddleson Funeral Home in Lawton, OK. Cremation arrangments entrusted to Arkansas Cremation. www.ArkansasCremation.com
