Kent Kanning

Kent Mark Kanning, 55, entered into God’s Kingdom on December 23, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.

Kent was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Leore and Ingeborg (Nerhus) Kanning on October 16, 1966. After attending deaf schools in New Mexico and Idaho, he went to Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, California where he graduated. He then enrolled into and graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

After working in various places in southern California and Arizona, Kent returned to Little Rock in 2017. He was thrilled to be able to live in the house where he was born in. He was employed at the Arkansas School for the Deaf at the time of his passing.

Kent lived a life of service to our Lord and cherished the many relationships and conversations he shared with those he met along the way. Kent was a devout Christian and was a true example thru his voice and actions of Christianity and shared the word of God with all who knew him. Reading scriptures, architecture and home design were just a few of his passions and what he enjoyed the most. Kent was very caring and always checking in on family. We will miss those conversations and his positive outlook on life.

Kent is preceded in death by his parents, Leore and Ingeborg and he joins them in Heaven. He is survived by numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

His family will have a small, private service at a later date.
