John Boyce

John C. "Bud" Boyce Sr. died peacefully at Arkansas Children’s Hospital Burn Center on July 11, 2016 in Little Rock, AR at the age of 82. John is survived by his brother, Alvin "Sonny" Boyce, sisters, Louise Cody and Irene Newland, his sons, John Boyce Jr. of CA, Clifton Boyce of CA, Jonathan (Anne) Boyce of FL and Timothy of MI. He was preceded in death by His father, John J. Boyce, mother, Lena E. Miner and favorite Aunt, Lola Jones. John was born on November 5, 1933 in Gilroy, CA. Grew up in Russell, AR. Served in the Army from 1951-1960, enjoyed sharing stories of time stationed in Asmara, Ethiopia. After his service, he lived in Massachusetts, and many years in Michigan, mainly the Traverse City area with his family. He worked as a master diesel mechanic, retiring from the Grand Traverse County Road Commission. He returned to Arkansas and lived happy, healthy and independently, spending his days with his dogs, tinkering with motors and putting his green thumb to good use. Ashes will be spread at later time.
