Mr. Jay R. Sprigg, recently of Perry County, Arkansas passed away on July 11, 2017 following a long illness. Jay was born May 3, 1947 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Mr. and Mrs. Rolens Jay Sprigg and grew up in Fort Smith. He was known for his love of family and friends and had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He earned BS and MS degrees in Chemistry from the UA Fayetteville and an APh.D in Biophysics from the UALR. He worked many years in the Nuclear Medicine Department at the VA hospital in Little Rock and was currently a Chemistry and Physical Science instructor at Pulaski Technical College. He was also a passionate volunteer at the Heifer Project International Ranch in Perry Country for many years.
The family will hold a memorial service for Jay at the United Methodist Church, 123 Cross St., Perryville, Arkansas on July 14, at 2:00 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Heifer Project International by going to: https:fundraiser.heifer.orgsprigg.
