James Ponder Sr.

James Marion Ponder Sr., born in Louisiana on August 22, 1941 went to be with the Lord February 20, 2020 at Life Touch Hospice, surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents B.K and Madie Ponder; one daughter Tara Morgan; one grandchild Tyler Hogue; six brothers and three sisters.

He was an all-around oil field worker for many years.  He loved to fish and hunt at his camp on Champagnolle Creek where family would come and spend time enjoying good food and music around the campfire.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife Nena of 50 years; his children Trula Rogillio (Charles) of Morton, MS, Tina Hogue (Phillip) of Camden, AR, James Ponder Jr of Calion, AR; Teri Ponder (Jason) of El Dorado, AR, Violet Welch, James Earl Ponder, Rhonda Ponder and Marion (Pete) Ponder all of Zavalla, TX.  James had 25 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and one sister Syble White of Calion, AR.

Per James’ request, he will be cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.
