James Marlow

James Wesley Marlow, 87, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021.  He was born in Rolla, Missouri on July 27, 1933 to Coy Lee and Alice Myrle (Cross) Marlow.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Gale (Kingsbury) Marlow, his parents, sisters Pauline Taggart, Betty Capper, Ramona Marlow, Rosemary Spees and his brother, Bobby Marlow.

He is survived by his children, Lucinda Guillory, Michael Marlow (Diana), Melissa Moore (Tom), grandchildren, Rachel Moss (Patrick), Nathan Guillory, Mindy Fike (Justin), Aaron Moore, and two great-granddaughters, Eleanor Fike and Madelyn Fike.

Jim graduated from Rolla School of Mines with a BS in Civil Engineering.  He also earned a Masters in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.  He retired as Chief Construction Operations Division from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District.  His job took him to many places including Branson, MO where at the age of 24, he was the head engineer for the construction of the Table Rock Lake dam.  His hobbies were traveling with his family, wood carving, traveling the world with Carolyn, and ballroom dance.  He was a member of Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.  Jim was known by many to be a good and honest man.

A memorial graveside service will be held in Rolla, MO at a later date.  The family would like to thank the Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to SHUMC.
