Jackie Smith

Jackie Lee Smith, age 67, of North Little Rock, passed peacefully at his home on June 10, 2016. A devoted husband to his wife of 40 years, Barbara Smith. Born in Conway, AR on March 5, 1949, he was the son of the late Homer and Joyce (Avon) Smith, and a cherished brother of Lynn Smith and Virginia Whitfield (Smith). He grew up in Conway, AR and graduated from Vilonia High School. Jack was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country in Vietnam. He worked several years for the Arkansas Highway Department and also served as a Sergeant of the Sherwood Police Department. He continued his service in the Arkansas National Guard where he eventually retired as Sergeant First Class. He will be honored by many for his dedication to those he served throughout the years and those who served by his side. Jack also enjoyed fishing as one of his favorite hobbies and could fix & repair just about anything. He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara; his son Jason Smith & wife Christie; his son Daniel Smith & wife April; and his daughter Melissa Smith. He was a grandfather to seven grandchildren: Jay, Andrew, Jonathan, Gage, Skyler and the late Cameron and Tyler. He was also survived by his faithful companion LilBit. The funeral Service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Services entrusted to Arkansas Cremation.
