Edwin Scott Vowell, age 52, of Greenville, Mississippi, died Thursday February 1, 2018 from complications of surgery. He was born September 23, 1965 in Victoria, Texas, the son of Woody Gene Vowell Sr. and Dianne Ramsey Vowell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as grandparents Jack and Willie Grace Ramsey also of Greenville, MS. He is survived by three sisters, Julie Kuzin of Huston, Texas, Jennifer Vowell of Bay City, Texas, Jane Baker of Huston, Texas; one brother Woody Gene Vowell Jr. of Matagorda, Texas; daughter Leah Vowell of Greenville, Mississippi, son Chancellor "Chance" Vowell of Greenville, Mississippi, grandson Zachary Crocker of Greenville, Mississippi, one favorite aunt Freddie McClendon, and significant other Amber Bunker of Lake Village, Arkansas.
Edwin "Scottie" Vowell led a full and adventurous life. He was a talented craftsman and liked to brag about his work being featured in magazines. He skated through life on his good looks and quick wit (mostly inappropriate). Although Scottie went through trials during his younger years, he had credited turning his life around to Washington County Drug Court, the amazing staff who loved him through his recovery, and peach cobbler.
Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday, February 11 at 2pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Greenville, Mississippi.
