Dorothy Balch

Dorothy Mae Balch, age 87, resident of North Little Rock, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016.
She was born February 11, 1928, in DeKalb, IL to Hallie Jane Mathey and Albert Wampole.

She married Henry Alvin Balch on Dec 11, 1948, at the Grace Methodist Church in Sycamore, IL. They raised three daughters: Janet, Beverly, and Patti, while residing on farms in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa.

After Henry's death on January 18, 1982, she moved to Paris,Texas, where she resided with Beverly, Patti and Patti's family (Husband and children Michael and Lisa). She moved to North Little Rock in the summer of 1986 and joined daughter Janet.
The other daughters and their families joined her in a relatively short time. She has resided in North Little Rock since then.

She worked at Gospel Lighthouse Day Care with infants and then at McDonalds on Hwy 365 by I40 exit 142 till her retirement.

She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Janet & Lawrence McNeil, and daughter Patti Perez, all of North Little Rock. Her Grandchildren Lisa and Michael Perez reside in Oelwein, IA.

She was an avid Country Music fan and attended many concerts and festivals over the years. She enjoyed doing ceramics after retirement and the apartment she has shared with daughter Patti for the last 5 1/2 years is decorated with many items as well as countless pieces she gave to friends and donated to charity events.

Please join us in celebrating her life at a Memorial Service on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., in the Club House at Hillview Village Apartments, 2540 W Pershing Blvd, North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Her remains will be buried at a later date next to her husband, Henry at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb, IL.
