Debara Haines

Debara Smith Haines died on November 1, 2016 following a major cardiac event. She was born June 14, 1944 in Durant, Oklahoma to Dale and Darrel Smith. Survivors include sisters, Jan Smith, Jill Sullivan (Jerry), Melinda Carpenter (Dave) and many nieces and nephews. Debby was an educator who taught elementary from California to Arkansas. Her love of children and teaching is well remembered. She considered the Robinson Elementary students and colleagues family.

This is how we remember our interesting, smart, fun, bug loving, creative sister and aunt. Debby knew how to captivate any child’s mind by telling them the weirdest most eccentric, fascinating lesson they had ever heard. We never knew beetles were so interesting or rocks were so mind blowing... until we talked to Debby. We will miss Debby but will never forget or know another one like her.
