Beverly C. Dahl of Sherwood, AR went home to heaven Dec 10, 2021, 6 days before her 95th birthday. After a long illness and loving care, she was with loved ones in the home of one of her daughters when Jesus brought her home.
She was born in Saginaw, Michigan Dec. 16, 1926 to Blanche and Fred Zwingman. She grew up there with her sister Laurel Abler. After high school graduation and upon being rejected for employment by the FBI because she had no fingerprints, she packed a suitcase and moved to Denver, CO with two girlfriends.
She held several jobs that helped pay for week-end skiing trips. In 1953 she met and married Sgt. Kermit Dahl. Army life began when they were sent off to Verdun, France where 2 of their 3 daughters were born.
Beverly spent the next 25 years creating a mobile family unit that had a strong faith in God and a memory-filled home base that moved around the world together.
She had the ability to get her daughters excited about each new move and juggled cultural differences from Iran to Texas and various places along the way.
Little Rock, Arkansas was their final transfer and although she had plans to return to the ski slopes in Colorado, they made N. Little Rock their home.
Beverly was an award-winning watercolor artist, sculptor, seamstress and seemed to excel in any type of craft project she tried. She volunteered for various jobs in the churches she attended including a youth group leader, a death-row prison ministry and most recently, a 25 yr member of the choir at First Assembly of God NLR.
Her family loved her apple pies, homemade bread and worth-every-calorie chocolate fruitcake. She was physically active, including mowing her yard into her 70’s, after Kermit died and attending yoga class until she was 93.
The faith she and Kermit had in God was passed along to all 3 daughters, Stephanie Greaves (David), Dannette Erwin (Tom), and Terri Hallum (Tom),
10 Grandchildren; Courtney White, Joseph Erwin (Renee), Daniel Erwin (Sara), Katie Epperson (BJ), MaryAnn Page (John), Susanna Arteaga (Victor), Mandy Hallum, Zachary Hallum (Kristyn), Kevin Greaves (Jenna), Sarah Greaves; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Her family on earth will miss her greatly, but their knowledge that she has reached her final and most glorious destination in heaven fills us with peace and joy.
The family will hold a graveside memorial service at a later date at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene, 116 S. Pine, North Little Rock, AR 72114; https://www.friendlychapel.org/
