Betty Phillips

August 1, 1939 — June 14, 2015

Betty Robertson Phillips took hold of Jesus hand and stepped into Heaven, Sunday morning, June 14, 2015. She was with her family and went peacefully.

Betty was born August 1, 1939 in Parkin, Arkanas, to Daniel Monroe Pitts and Mary Kathleen Baker Pitts. She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband Marvin Robertson of North Little Rock, and her second husband, Reece Phillis of Forrest City, Arkansas. She is survived by her son Dennis Robertson and wife Jeanie, of North Little Rock; grandson, Daniel Robertson and wife Jessica of Bentonville, Arkansas; granddaughter, Clarinda Robertson of Little Rock; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Yang and Aiden Robertson; four brothers, John, Vernon, James and Bill Pitts; one sister, Kathy Pitts; many nieces nephews; and her beloved cat Pumpkin.

She worked in Retain Sales and was a Homemaker throughout her life. Betty will be remembered as a sweet and gentle person, a loving mother, grandmother and GiGi. She loved animals and always had dogs and cats from the time she was a little girl, right up until her death. Many of her pets were strays or rescues that she had adopted and took loving care of. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Little Rock and had a strong and unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ. She was a great example and inspiration to her family and friends throughout her struggle with cancer. Even though this horrible disease ravaged and destroyed her body it never broke her strong spirit and unwavering faith in God. She never complained and always kept her sweet smile. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Wilson Activity Center at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1700 Napa Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), www.lls.org or to The Pulaski County Humane Society, www.warmhearts.org. She will be greatly misses by her family and friends, but we know she is enjoying her reunion in Heaven. Services entrusted to Arkansas Cremation. Guests may register at www.arkansascremation.com.
